Where does the goat milk come from?
We keep 5 female goats (called does) on our small farm here in Monroe,
Oregon. |
| |
What kind of goats are they?
Nubian, Alpine & Boyer species. |
| |
How do you milk your goats?
I milk my goats by hand, twice daily. |
| |
Are your goats pets?
Yes, definitely. They are very spoiled! |
| |
Do you personally make all of your products?
Yes, I do. I personally research all of the ingredients and formulate
my own recipes for each of my products. |
| |
How long have you been in business?
I made the first batch of soap in 2003 for my daughter Leah when she
was 8. For most of her young life, she had a severe case of eczema
from head to toe. We took her to several doctors and each one had
a new remedy. Nothing they suggested or prescribed worked for very
long, if at all. Spring of that year we bought two goats and soon
had more milk than we knew what to do with. I happened to be looking
up goat care and goat milk recipes on the web and came across an article
about goat milk soap and its ability to help moisturize skin and heal
eczema, and how gentle it is. Within three weeks she was healing,
and within two months not a trace remained. I have been making soap
and skin care products ever since, gradually expanding my products
to what I have today. |
| |
Are your products organic?
My products do not currently meet the USDA requirements for "Certified
Organic" status; however, some of the ingredients in my products are
organic, and ALL of the ingredients are the highest quality available
from reputable and responsible companies. |
| |
Are you licensed or insured?
Yes to both. I carry product liability insurance through The Indie
Beauty Network. I also have a registered business name with the
State of Oregon - our state's equivalent to a business license (ABN#327463-98). |
| |
I received my shipped products in an oatmeal box. What gives?
I practice the general idea of reduce, reuse & recycle. I buy my ingredients
in bulk to cut down on initial packaging. I reuse the packaging I
receive, and I reuse any box from my family's purchases that will
fit your order! In our family of 6, nearly nothing goes to waste.
And in the long run, savings are passed on to you because I don't
waste precious resources purchasing fancy packaging! |
| |
Are your products available for wholesale?
Yes. Please email me your request for wholesale
prices. Please be sure to include your Oregon ABN# or equivalent for
out of state requests. |
| |
Are your products available for retail purchase locally?
Currently, you can find my products in the South Benton Community
Center, Pennyroyal Gifts in Junction City, the
OSU Bookstore in Corvallis! |
